Creating
a livable, sustainable community with sound economic prospects
and a strong relation to the environment is a process measured
by many yardsticks. Concepts include quality homes, environmental/energy
design and a "learning organism" that
improves its performance as each decision is made and implemented. |
The Noisette Rose was created
to provide a flexible tool to facilitate goal setting and
measurement to chart the success of the community project.

Noisette Rose
This flexible tool permits the measurement
metrics for social, environmental, economic and other types
of performance to be selected for each project. It can be used
independently or in combination with other assessment tools. |

The Noisette development team and
the City of North Charleston have created the Noisette Quality
Home Perfomance Standards to define the performance of residential
development. |
|
Noisette Quality Home
Performance standards have been developed
especially for the Noisette community. These evaluate new low-rise
residential buildings based on six measurement categories:
• Sustainable sites & communities
• Water efficiency
• Building durability
• Energy use
• Materials & resources
• Indoor environmental quality

Leadership in Energy & Environmental
Design (LEED™)
The U.S. Green Building Council's LEED
standards are the foremost national standards for evaluating
occupant well-being, environmental performance and economic
returns of commercial and high-rise residential construction.
A variety of LEED-based tools are under development. |
