The redevelopment of the 350-acre Navy Yard at Noisette is envisioned as the new "downtown" for the the 3,000-acre project area. Strong meanings have been derived from the history of the Old Naval Base, an important economic and social engine for the place and region. Additionally the Navy Yard at Noisette is already becoming known through out the region as a center for the arts - with unique studio spaces available at 10 Storehouse Row, a spectactular performance stage and pavilion at Riverfront Park, and flexible event space being used regularly for gallery events, film screenings, and more.
